For “What’s the Point”, TED’x 2025 event, the main visual is a target, symbolizing the “point”. People might also interpret this abstract symbol as fingerprints, tornado swirls, etc. Yet, the viewer’s misunderstanding is exactly what I want to achieve. People were trying to find a “point” through this poster by thinking and reflecting, as if the creator, is communicating with the viewers, establishing a conversation where one asks the question and the other answers it. The symbol for the 2026 TEDx event, “The Unseen & Unheard”, is “curtains”, which is an allusion to the commonly known phrase “behind the scenes”, symbolizing a blind that segregates the seen and unseen world. For the red poster, people are peaking into the classical theatre red curtains; in other words, peaking into the world behind the scenes. This poster introduced TEDx’s annual theme to the audience, inviting them to unveil the world behind the curtains. For the black poster, people from behind the curtains are peaking outside, gazing at the microphone under the spotlight. Used for the “The Unseen & Unheard” speech event, it symbolizes how the ones once hidden is ready to step out of the curtains.
