Description
This series explores the relationship between human consumption and animal life. Using specimen jars and product labels, animals are presented as objects within systems of use and trade. Everyday products are paired with their animal origins, revealing often overlooked connections. The word “takes” suggests both human choice and what is taken away. The work combines printmaking and drawing; printmaking’s reproducibility reflects commodification, inspired by Andy Warhol’s prints, while drawing retains a sense of individuality. The series invites viewers to reconsider the consequences of their everyday choices.
