The gallery is located in a former slaughterhouse. The architects preserved the dark brick façade and traditional windows, while damaged elements—such as door and window portals—were recreated in light microcement, continuing historical decorative forms in a contemporary way. This contrast between old and new highlights the building’s layered character. The wayfinding system draws inspiration from architectural details like arches, lines, and structural rhythms. It uses the Technik 100 and 200 typefaces by Samuel Čarnoký. Two font weights emphasize architectural contrasts and mirror the material dialogue between dark brick and light microcement. Typographic compositions and pictograms are shaped by the geometry of the typeface. Subtle text shifts are a key element—they reference the unconventional forms of portal openings and create a visual dialogue between the signage and architecture. The system is minimal, technical, and discreetly integrated into the walls. It reflects the identity of the institution and includes signage for entrances, directions, lifts, toilets, and fire safety.
